Day 9

We had a late start this morning with everybody sleeping in. I was relieved to see Goltis's toes move through my sleepy eyes. He was actually looking much better this morning. He also said that he feels much better after some good rest. We slowly began to gather our things to set sail this evening. I convinced the team to have another set of laboratory test done so that I can see how they have responded to rehydration (Andriy and Constantine). The results came back with Andriy and Constantine's kidney functions improved with their increased hydration status. Their Sodium is low so they may be over - hydrating at this stage. Goltis's results showed only a slight worsening of his kidney functions with rest of his biochemistry profile within the normal range. I had the pleasure to spend some time with him swimming in the ocean before we left to try and find out what lies behind his determination, positive mindset and surprisingly good physical condition. When I asked him if he knows he can die during this period the thought did not even cross his mind... this probably is some part of his secret.
