Day 20

I woke up early today. Not to bad a sleep for a starboard listing evening (the wrong side for my bunk). Looking at the sunrise as I hanged over he side of the boat. 20 days - the half way mark. From now we can start counting down. Constantin started drinking again after 2 days. He said that he felt bad. He is really straining himself. I fear fro long term damage to his organs which is undetectable at this stage. It is like running marathons all your life. You look good and fit and then when you grow old - you can easily spot see a man who has run a lot of marathons in his life. In my opinion Andriy is approaching the fasting time in the best way he can. He set his goal. Reserves his energy and knows his limitations. You cannot make a car run on gas fumes...Goltis spent after three days without water again. He says that he is feeling good. At this stage my medical opinion feels worthless. He continues as he pleases. I will only be involved in his decision making when he cannot do so for himself...

There were some dead flying fish caught on our deck today. Bad timing on their behalf - it must be a rare cause of "flying fish mortality" statistics. Caught on the passing deck of a small sailing yacht deck measuring a few square meters. What is the chance of that happening when you are able to fly over the biggest waves in the Atlantic?

The sky was on fire as the sun fell into the sea this evening. I was disappointed that Anatoli turned in early. No one to watch the stars with tonight. No matter - as the clouds were dark in the skies anyway.
