| Christmas eve:
Of course! - Why did I not see it before. St. Nicholas - right here in
front of my bunk. You are the one who brings the presents and puts them under
the pillow. That is if we behaved the past year. I know that you normally make
your rounds on the 7th of January, but thank you for stopping by on my
Christmas eve. Anatoli handed me the three razor blades, packet of chewing gum
and pocket knife you left me. And I must commend you on your choice this year -
very appropriate for a sailor heading to shore.
We are having some potatoes and onions tonight. We also had a sip of ice wine I bought from Canada.
Thanks Ray! It was the talk of the day. Tomorrow we will celebrate Christmas
with a bottle of red wine.
It was a lonely day on board. The ship seemed larger than yesterday.
Everybody was able to find their own corner. Constantin stating that he feels
very good today - his crises is over. Andriy nods at me and Goltis is making
his plans of how they would reintroduce foods when we arrive to the island. Their
stomachs would have shrunken by this time. They will start with fruit juice,
teas and then fruits and later vegetables. There appears to be no specific
formula - it will be reintroduced when the body is ready for the next food
group.
We watched the sun set and Venus rise. I have to agree with Anatoli -
One month from now we will think back on these worry free days. We talk about
Motocross and how worthless a wallet full of money is right now.
We have three days to go to the Island. |
