| Christmas Day Merry Christmas St.
Neptune! I wish you a wonderful day and year ahead. He grins back. I greeted
everybody with a Merry Christmas as I walked trough the cabin, trying to wake
up. I am very tired this morning. We did not have a lot of sleep in the bumpy
seas.
I was still reading my "gift" to myself - an outdoor magazine my father
gave me in London when Anatoli started peeling the potatoes for today's lunch.
It is going to be fries. Everybody was out on the deck. We opened a bottle of
red wine and ate in a happy mood.. The team constantly sniffing the wine and
the fries - so close. Their day is coming soon. They are looking well today.
They know that their time will come soon. Goltis bought out his drum and
Constantin played the guitar while we wrote a letter to be sent off to sea.
Constantin mentioned his prediction for the message coming back to us is very
low. I feel different - I think the chances is good that we will be reunited
with our message again. The day continues merrily when the wine runs out and a
bottle of Vodka is brought out. Anatoli had his eyes on that one for while.
Today a good a d ay as any. Once again there is a lot to drink to. Friends,
family, Christmas, our safety and the two days we have to go. before we reach
land I was able to talk to my family an wish them a Merry Christmas on the
Satellite phone. They were just ready to start their evening meal. I can just
imagine what they are having.
We all settled down and I was standing on the side of the boat. Thinking
of all the Christmases I have had - and of my family and friends. Thanking God
for the day and that I had the chance to spend my Christmas with 6 Orthodox
Christians. Andriy shouted from the cabin "Constantin - do you still remember
you promised to buy me a box of green apples when we arrive to shore?.
Constantin replied: " Yes he remembers."
I shout "Herisho Christmas"! to Anatoli as he came out o the deck "Good
Christmas!", He was just bring out the little Russian translator and pointing
to "sorrows" - "No sorrows? he asked. "No sorrows." I replied. |
