Day 19

Today was "a cabin day". It was still morning when everybody returned to their bunks for a nap. The day passed slowly. Captain trying to fix the boom and me facing Andriy in a game of chess. I sometimes wish life's answers where just as black and white as the color of the chessboard. No grey's in between. The rest of the afternoon is spent out on the deck looking at the horizon - which is sometimes only as far away as the nearest wave's crest. I look at the guys as I head back to the cabin when the breeze started to pick up. They are starting to  look old. Specially Contantin and Goltis. The strain on their bodies starting to show. Nothing wrong with their mental status yet as I recall Andriy's words to me: "Check mate" with a smile.

I spent the evening with Anatoli looking at the stars. So many. We started learning their names: Mintaka, Alnilam, Almnitak. Their names foreign and nothing less than I would expect from the stars making up Orion's belt. Almost as strange on my tongue as when I first heard the names: Constantin, Goltis and Andriy Suprin.
